April is coming to an end and it's time I unveiled this month's Scavenger Photo Hunt!
1 – PAIN / LOAF
This
word immediately made me think of good crusty bread and the ones on the cross
stitch embroidery look so good!
2 – MINE / MINE
I could have posted the blurred picture of a coal tip taken
on trip to the north of France
which is THE mining region of my country. But a mine is also something that
makes holes in the ground, like my Filo whose present game consists in digging
holes in the places of passage where you are most likely to sprain an ankle of
course!
3 – BORD / EDGE
Like the edge of the cliffs in Etretat where I had a walk with my daughters,
that was 13 years ago!
4 – NOIR / BLACK
Like a cat, the Chat Noir in French, a cabaret in the late
19th century’s Montmartre - Paris,
with a sign by Steinlen that has become so emblematic of the artistic life of Paris at that time.
5 – PONT / BRIDGE
soit 1104 pieds ! Très impressionnant quand on
arrive dessus en voiture !
Here the choice was very difficult
because I have photographed many bridges of many different kinds. So I had to
pick out one and it will be the Millau
Bridge, in southern France, by Norman
Foster, the highest in the world with 336.4 metres
(1,104 ft)! Very impressive when you arrive on it with your car!
MON CHOIX / MY OWN CHOICE
My own choice is for this picture
of my garden gnome :
“Hey little dwarf! What are you
doing here, loafing about on the edge of the pond while Snow White is
waiting for you to come back home after your day at the diamond mine?”
“Well, I can’t go any further! There is no bridge to cross the pond!”
“Oh, then try to be as ingenious as the black cat at your feet that found a
good solution to keep dry on water!”
Oh, I love ever one of your pictures, so very very lovely. And your 'word play' on the last is so clever, well done.
RépondreSupprimerThe bridge de Millau is incredible - I have seen it on television and part of me would love to drive across it, and the other part would be quite terrified!
Thank you, Jayne! The word play is a bit far-fetched this time... But nevermind since I arrived too late to post the pictures on Kate's blog. It's true that driving on the Millau bridge requires good resistance to vertigo!
SupprimerGreat picture of you and your daughters. I am sure they look (and act) a little differently now.
RépondreSupprimerThank you, David. Oh yes, they look quite different today, and so do I (they for the better, and I ...) but each of them has kept their nature.
SupprimerOh that looks delicious. In this variant, I have not seen a pattern. Very nice.
RépondreSupprimerA pretty picture of you and your daughters.
The bridge of Norman Foster I find very interesting - now his second building which I can marvel at.
Have a nice week, greetings Martina
Thank you, Martina! I adapted a pattern published in the last issue of Créations Point de Croix, Un Weekend à la Campagne, it's a model by Monique Bonnin and I had already found it on the internet before. The contrasting colours create a beautiful impression of relief.
SupprimerBest wishes for a nice week! Sandrine
I like tour photo hunt! It's always interesting to see, which pictures (and why!) do people choose, how the photos reflect their inner world, their thoughts and feelings.
RépondreSupprimerHave a nice last day of April, Sandrine!
Greetings from cloudy Hungary :)
Szvetlana
Thank you, Szvetlana! The choice of the pictures is not always easy, I usually try to introduce one creation among the photos and it's a good thing I have a full month to think over it! Greetings from at last sunny France after a grey, cold ans sad month of April. Sandrine
SupprimerWonderful photos. The bridge is great and a lovely picture from your children and you.
RépondreSupprimerHave a nice week. Manuela

A lovely selection for the words. I think the bridge is amazing & like you I had so many to choose from. I did with mine too, as Oz is a big country with many different types of mining. I enjoyed your little play on words at the end. Thanks for sharing & take care.

RépondreSupprimerWonderful photos, Sandrine. The one of you and your daughters is my favourite.
RépondreSupprimerThe first one made me smile and want to see the film "Ratatouille" again. I think to have seen the bridge in a film too and would love to see it and drive on it.
