This year’s celebrations are not exactly as joyful as they should have
been if Notre Dame was still intact but the heartbreaking and apocalyptic vision
of the collapsing roof on fire gave a very special meaning to this moment of
year.
A few pictures that were
made on one of my lasts visits to Paris.
It’s time I showed you my latest Spring hexagons.
This one is my interpretation of a grid
kindly offered by Martina on her blog as I felt like making something in
traditional embroidery for a change. I
wish I had chosen a fabric with smaller flowers for the tiny appliqué on the
egg. I will do better next time.
Des oeufs que j’avais
brodés l’année dernière.
Easter eggs that I embroidered last year.
cadeaux.
A series of tiny teddies made of pipe cleaners that
will adorn small presents.
Dépêche-toi petit lapin, tu
Hurry up little bunny, your chocolate eggs delivery is not over! (a reference
to traditions that are not French ones actually since for us French people the
chocolate eggs are laid in our gardens by the bells on their way back from Rome!)
Sandrine, stunningly beautiful hexagons, with great plots!
RépondreSupprimerI regret and hope for the speedy restoration of Notre Dame.
Congratulations on a bright, festive Sunday!
Let the rabbit deliver the sweet treat to everyone!
Thank you, Tanya! The rabbit did his job generously :))
SupprimerThe destruction of Notre Dame is a tragedy for the entire world. I was especially struck by the size of the beams in the cathedral and the sobering fact that there are no longer trees of this girth to replace them.
RépondreSupprimerYes, David, the woodwork will be irreplaceable, it is so sad...
SupprimerLovely little hexagons. The stitching egg are so beautiful.
RépondreSupprimerHappy Easter, Manuela

Merci beaucoup, Karine!
SupprimerMy heart hurts with what happened to Notre Dame! Your work is so lovely!!
RépondreSupprimerThank you so much, Angela! Have a nice week!
SupprimerA Notre Dame tragédiáját élő képeken közvetítették kiemelt hírként minden műsor alatt a tv bal felső sarkában a hírcsatornák nálunk is.
RépondreSupprimerNagyon kedvesek a húsvéti díszeid!
Thank you, Beáta! Yes, the fire was very impressive on TV and I was afraid the cathedral would be completely destroyed when I saw the pictures from the sky. It will be very difficult to find the reason for the fire because all the clues have disappeared but the restoration works are most certainly at the origin of it.
SupprimerBelos trabalhos.
RépondreSupprimerEste coelho no carro resume: vida que segue.
