The clean laundry which piles up because you are
too busy with other funnier and more creative activities than ironing - do you
know what I mean? The problem is that you feel guilty each time you walk past
the open basket that is filling up. I had for long intended to make a lid for
this basket the content of which sometimes catches the eye.
peint.
Last month I found a relevant model in a magazine and started the
project. I had to rub shoulders with quilting, which was new
for me. I inserted a cardboard plaque between the two quilts so that the lid
would not sink into the basket. The finishing was made with a white and grey
braid to echoe the colour of the embroidery and wallpaper.
I also changed the lining because the original one was not in an
appropriate colour. And so here is my brand new basket, ready to host the laundry and keep
the iron away for a few more days!
I have to say that guilt does not even enter my head when I pass the laundry basket! It is a talent easily developed and I highly recommend it to everyone.
RépondreSupprimerThis is a very clever piece of advice that I will gladly follow! Thank you, David.
SupprimerA real French charm! :) What a stylish cover came out. I like these funny chickens very much, household ones like that, reminding us that the basket is sometimes not empty ... :) Sandrine, beautiful performance!
RépondreSupprimerThank you very much, Irina! The little hens help make the amount of ironing less awesome :) Greetings from Sandrine!
SupprimerIt looks very nice! You've done a very beautiful basket, Sandrine!
RépondreSupprimerThank you, Ksenia! I wanted to recycle the old basket instead of buying a new one with a lid. And I was lucky to find the model with the hens in a magazine I bought in early March. Best wishes!
Bisous!
SupprimerA very nice pattern and a great idea for a finish, you have succeeded very well.
RépondreSupprimerHave a nice week, Martina
Thank you, Martina! I was not totally satisfied with the quilting because I find it goes slightly sideways and the thin lining fabric is not as starched as I would have liked. But the embroidery reconciles me with this project. Have a nice day! Sandrine
RépondreSupprimerThank you, Chelo! The model with the little hens was the reason why I bought the magazine, I couldn't resist! Have a nice evening!
SupprimerWe understand, yes. I will not even show my basket with clean ironed clothes))) The lid will not help her. Even so beautiful and fun like yours! Very positive chickens, work! Everything goes great and decorates the room! You can not even iron now)))
RépondreSupprimerThank you, Tatyana! If only I could hire these little chickens to do the ironing in my place, I would build them a golden henhouse in the garden :)) The only moment I like plugging the iron in is when it is for the finishing of an embroidery!
RépondreSupprimerThank you very much, Irina! I like small projects too, sometimes. It is very satisfactory to see the result quickly. Best wishes! Sandrine

Thank you, Manuela! The pattern was very pleasant to follow and the different colours in it allow many different kinds of finish. I wish you a nice evening! Sandrine
SupprimerA lovely basket Sandrine, how well it has turned out - perfect - now you can´t see what needs ironing.
RépondreSupprimerThank you, Sheryl! I won't worry about the ironing anymore - until it spills over the brims of the basket :)) Best wishes!
